                                 Postpositions ला lɑ, लािग lɑɡi, खाितर kʰɑtir, खाितन kʰɑtin, खiतन kʰʌrtin and

                           वाPते waste are synonymous with each other and mark benefactive case in Bhojpuri,
                           as shown in (40a-c).

                                 As cited in (40a-c), ला /lɑ/ in (40a), खाितर /kʰɑtir/ in (40b) and वाPते /waste/ in

                           (40c) all stand for 'for' as in English, marking benefactive case. Moreover, sometimes
                           का /kɑ/ precedes खाितर /kʰɑtir/ and वाPते /waste/ but it is obligatory for वाPते /waste/.
