'I gave her a book.'
In the examples in (10a-c), (10a) exhibits the normal word order in Bhojpuri
where the verb देनी /deni/ 'gave' is in clause-final position. But in (10b-c) it has
brought just next to the subject where the word-order is S-V-IO-Poss-O-V in (10b)
and S-V-DO-IO-Poss. It is a heavy NP shift in Bhojpuri under R-dislocation.
(iii) Right node raising
When right-periphery placement strategies are combined with coordinate
constructions, the effect is so-called Right-node raising. These are strings in which
one structure may be "temporarily set on one side" in a parsing sequence while a
second is introduced, both then being completed by a single right-most expression, as
shown in (11a-c).
