State of living
                                 The group of adjectives of state of living describe various states of animate

                           beings as shown in (29a-d).
                              (29) a. Age: जवान /jʌwɑn/ 'young'—बूढ़ /buɽ ̊ / 'old', नया /nʌyɑ/ 'new'—पुरान /purɑn/ 'old'

                                  b. Life: िजअत /jiʌt/ or Zजदा /jindɑ/ 'alive'—मरल /mʌrʌl/ or मूदाO /murdɑ/ 'dead'

                                  c. Health: तंदु>Xत /tʌndurust/ or XवXथ /swʌstʰ/ 'healthy'—बेमार /bemɑr/ 'sick',

                                     रोगी /roɡi/ 'ill'—िनरोग /niroɡ/ 'well'

                                  d. Business: WXत /byʌst/ 'busy'—िनक\मा /nikʌmmɑ/ 'idle', रोजगार /rojɡɑr/
                                     'employed'—बेरोजगार /berojɡɑr/ 'unemployed'

                           Position

                                 This group of adjectives appeared in antonym pairs code distance and
                           direction as shown in (30a-b).

                              (30) a. Distance: लग /lʌɡ/ or िनअरा /niʌrɑ/ 'near'—पाला /pɑlɑ/ or लमहारा

                                 Bhojpuri adjectives tend to occur as predicate in copular clauses, as modifiers

                           in the Noun Phrase and as verbal complements.
