(iv) Alternative question

                    In alternative question, the first clause is followed by disjunctive particle  and then

                    second clause follows, which is in negative form, as in:

                    a.     


                           

                           All       faults   his       AUX   PRT    NEG.AUX


                           'Are all faults his or not?'

                    b.     

                           


                           His     name    Shyam    AUX     PRT     not   AUX

                           'Is his name Shyam or not?'

                     (v) Rhetorical question

                    In  a  rhetorical  question  two  alternative  clauses  are  formed,  in  which  one  reply  is

                    underneath. Both clauses are joined by particle 'or' as in (39):

                           'Will you run or shall I beat you?'

                    b.     
