(ii) Present durative
In present durative aspect, the durative marker - is followed by auxiliary -. The
past durative aspect involves three elements (1) the main verb stem and durative
marker - (2) the simple past tense of auxiliary verb - and tense marker and (3)
number, person, gender and honorificity agreement marker which is suffixed to the
tense marker. The form of the verb in present durative aspect can be shown as:
Base+ (- ) +-+ PRES+ (agreement marker)
