                                  १५०  झमर झुमCरआ डेढ़ सय /ȷ ̈ ʌmʌr ȷ ̈ umʌriɑ ɖeɽ ̊  sɛ/ 'tens are a half and a hundred'
                                 The numerals in सै /sɛ/ 'hundred' are counted up to nine and then in हजार

                           /ɦʌjɑr/ 'thousand'. The thousands are counted up to िननानबे /ninɑnbe/ 'ninety-nine' and

                           then turn to लाख /lɑkʰ/ 'hundred thousands', the order stepping in करोड़ /kʌroɽ/ 'ten

                           millions', अरब /ʌrʌb/ 'billion' and so on.

                           (ii) Ordinals
                                 As Grierson (1884a:11, Tiwari 1954:434-5 and 1960:121-2, Nirbhik 1975:60,
                           Tripathy  1987:108,  Shrivastava  1999:67,  Singh  2009:69  and  2013:66  and  Thakur

                           2011:74) also display, Bhojpuri has ordinals upto 'sixth' as following:

                              (53) a. पिहल /pʌɦil/ or पिहलका /pʌɦilkɑ/, पिहला /pʌɦilɑ/ 'first'
                                  b. दोसर /dosʌr/ or दूसर /dusʌr/ or दोसरका /dosʌrkɑ/ or दूसरका /dusʌrkɑ/, दूसरा

                                     /dusʌrɑ/ 'second'

                                  c. ितसर /tisʌr/ or ितसरका /tisʌrkɑ/, ितसरा /tisʌrɑ/ 'third'
                                  d. चउठ /cʌuʈʰ/ or चउथ /cʌutʰ/ or चउथका /cʌutʰkɑ/, चउथा /cʌutʰɑ/ 'fourth'

                                  e. पाँचवा /pɑcwɑ/ or पंचा /pʌncɑ/ 'fifth'
                                  f. छठा /cʰʌʈʰɑ/ 'sixth'

                                 The ordinals above 'sixth' are all formed by suffixing the numeral with -वाँ /-wɑ/ as:

                           दसवाँ /dʌsʌwɑ/ 'tenth', पचीसवाँ /pʌciswɑ/ 'twenty-fifth' and so on. The ordinals in Bhojpuri
                           are similar to that of Awadhi (Saksena 1937/1971:152-3) and Hindi (Koul 2008:90).
                           (iii) Fractions
                                 As in its close neighnours Maithili (Yadav 1996:146-7), Awadhi (Saksena

                           1937/1971:155), Hindi (Koul 2008:91-2) and Nepali (Adhikari 2016:71); Bhojpuri
                           has a number of fractions in practice (Grierson 1884a:11, Tiwari 1954:438 and

                           1960:124, Nirbhik 1975:60, Shrivastava 1999:68, Singh 2009:69 and 2013:66 and
                           Thakur 2011:74), as shown in (54).
