                    3.3 Summary

                    Bhojpuri verb stem can be classified into three categories- primitive, derivative and

                    compound.  Primitive  stems  are  considered  basic.  Their  morphological  structure  is
                    simple.  The  derivative  stems  are  derived  from  different  word  classes.  They  are
                    polymorphic. The compound stems are formed by combining either a monomorphic

                    verb  stem  or  derivative  verb  stem  with  a  verb  stem  with  a  verb,  or  with  a  noun,
                    adjective or adverb. If   the derivational suffix - is added to the root, and a verb stem

                    the  verb  bears  the  causative  meaning  in  Bhojpuri.  Verbs  stems  undergo  certain
                    modification after the affixation.


                    Bhojpuri verb stems are  divided into two classes. These are vowel final  stems and
                    consonant final stems. Stem ending with vowel segment can be classified further with

                    - final stem, - final stem, -  final stem,- final stem,- final stem and - final stem.
