First of all I would like to express my sincere gratitude and indebtedness to Dr. Dubi
Nanda Dhakal, for his guidance and help to accomplish my thesis. I appreciate his

scholarly suggestions and encouragement, which made my research a success.

I am grateful to Mr. Gopal Thakur, a native speaker and scholar of Bhojpuri language
and my main language consultant, who enthusiastically came forward to provide me

data in Bhojpuri language. My special thanks go to him.

Another language consultant Ms. Gajmotiya Devi's contribution is equally important
which helped me understand the norms of Bhojpuri language.
